What is cowboy mounted shooting?

Mounted shooting is a fast paced event that involves horsemanship and shooting skills. Two .45 single action revolvers with special blank ammunition are used to engage balloon targets while riding your horse through over 50 predetermined courses. This is a timed event with penalties assessed for missed targets and overturned barrels.

How can I join the association?

What equipment do I need to participate?

Participants need an RPAL, a horse, tack appropriate for mounted shooting, and .45 single action revolvers. Special blank ammunition is required, and safety gear such as ear protection is recommended.
